After reporting how well Harrison had eaten yesterday, I can't believe that he has lost even more weight! Frustrated is an understatement and I'm sure that you're all bored to tears hearing about it....
The doctor has told Harrison that he can go home next week providing he eats, otherwise they may become very good friends..... One of the nursery nurses kindly bought him some Pizza Express dough balls, but much to Harrison's dismay, mushroom ravioli isn't on their menu now. She bought him an M&S mushroom tagliatelle instead, of which he ate about a third. I went downstairs to get some lunch and one of the choices was - mushroom ravioli!!!!! Harrison had been waiting over three weeks for this meal then it appears after he'd given up hope! I have to say the hospital version looked far more appealing than the M&S one. As you can see though, he was happy with his version.
This afternoon, it has been business as usual with the art and craft projects. Harrison has said several times, "I just wish the school would go away!" Not terribly polite, and I'm sure if they came bearing video games, it would be a different story.... Anyway, today we've been making a planet with a balloon, masking tape, the type of bandage that sets a broken limb (can't remember its name), water and paint - I don't need to tell you the colour! Had some fun and games trying to hold the ballon and stick the bandage to it. Even with the two of us, it still ended up rolling over the bed a few times. The sheets are now rather stiff! We are also decorating a second t-shirt.
At 15:49pm (GMT) the space shuttle Endeavour touched back down in Florida. We followed its return on my netbook and tracked it's path using a satellite tracking programme.
This little pc has been fantastic over the past few weeks. It has kept us in touch with everyone, kept our blog followers updated, enabled us to watch some live (and already shown) television and enabled me to do a miniscule amount of work. I could have done more but spent far too long chatting to Bernard on Google Chat and enjoying the craft activities ;-) The best feature of this netbook, is that it is tiny and lightweight, so fits easily into my cavernous bag for portability. Have I convinced you to buy one yet?!
We've just had the sleep study equipment delivered to our room for Harrison's third sleep study. He managed without oxygen through the BIPAP last night so now we need to check that the pressures are set correctly for him. I have a suspicion that they will be too high now, as his requirement went up prior to being diagnosed with the swine flu. If we're lucky, this could be his last sleep study for a while but I think there will be at least one more before we go home.
'Planet Needle' (so named because "that's where all the needles which stick into your skin should go" says Harrison) finished - complete with gold 'countries' which you can't really see in the photo:
Now I'm going to meet Bernard in the car park to swap black cases (sounds dodgy!) so that Harrison and I have some clean clothes for the rest of our stay and Bernard gets to go and do some more washing......

How frustrating! The increase in weight might show up tomorrow though. How inconvenient of Pizza Express to stop making his ravioli!!!
Hopefully, home may be sight now - fingers and toes crossed as usual.
Well can't wait for you all to get home. Love & hugs to you all

I am surprised they continue with school bearing in mind it is the summer holidays for school children. Mind you, our children don't get 13 weeks off a year anyway so I am sure you are pleased even if H isn't!
Come on Harrison! Eat up for us!

Sometimes takes a day or two for results of eating to show so don't be downhearted. An increase will show up very soon, I'm sure. Must do with all that tagliatelle and dough balls. But I do think Harrison should write a letter to Pizza Express requesting the reinstatement of his favourite! Would make a change from the art work and they might listen and take action!
My Iain is worried! He thinks there's a danger of a world shortage of yellow paint if H stays in hospital much longer. So PLEASE EAT EVEN MORE Harrison so you can go home and save the world's artists worrying!!!
Hope the sleep study went well, though it does sound like more adjustment will be needed. He's doing so well now, improving in leaps and bounds. Hope the flu has now passed you all by and you have no more setbacks.
You are an amazing family. Keep on track and you'll soon be home.
Love, Sandie x
