Well, as per protocol, we've just checked with the ward and there is a bed available for Harrison. So, now it's on with the packing and eating up all the perishable food in the fridge, in preparation for Harrison's admission tomorrow.
As several people have already asked me where they can send a card, I thought it was easiest to put the hospital address here:
Rose Ward
Royal Brompton Hospital
Sydney Street
London SW3 6NP.
Just because I've put the address here, please don't feel obliged to send Harrison a card!
Although outwardly Harrison has been quite excited about having his operation; (he's desperate to start running around after his friends) we think that he's been a bit anxious too. In an attempt to help him deal with his concerns, we have had many conversations about what is going to happen and how he may feel afterwards. Even though he seems happy with the explanations, the telling sign is Bob the bear, who has been a constant companion for several days. Usually, poor old Bob is stuffed down the side of Harrison's bed maybe putting in an appearance at Christmas!
Anyway, time is pressing on so I'd be make a start on that packing.......
